According to Variety, the GTA 4 launch will beat the Halo 3 launch and take home $400 million in its first week of release. By comparison, Halo 3 took in $300 million in its first week, while last year’s other big blockbuster game Guitar Hero 3 “only” took $115 million in its first week.

Blockbuster is expecting GTA 4 to outpace Halo 3 2:1 for their rental chain, though Gamestop says it is tracking slightly behind.
